Nisa Embroidery
The Craft.
In Nisa, a small town in Alentejo, wool shawls came to life in the hands of the women of the household where chain stitch embroidery traced flowers, wheat and memory into every thread.
Symbols of celebrations, weddings and pride, they were part of a dowry that spoke, quietly, of the life behind each stitch.

Stitch by stitch, its flowers are hand embroidered by artisans in Nisa, keeping alive a craft shaped by time.

Founded by João, RAIA explores how those same crafts can live a different life.
